Composting and midwifing emergent systems for the future now
Of interest to those working within organizations and considering their lifecycles from a natural systems perspective.
Reflections following a decision by nonprofit Coalition of Everyone to cease operating as an organization, while considering the life before and after, the energy within the system that was gathered and now redistributed.
This article should be of interest to everyone, including nonprofits who often seem to assume a life in perpetuity. This view with contributions from participants helps frame the flow of life of the organization from its beginnings to the energies it disperses into successor projects. In the case of Coalition of Everyone, one of the main successors is Regen Place Network, which in turn carries people and energy developed in the Coalition of Everyone, and from other parts of the system in which they operate.
This non-linear, life-cycle approach and its illustration in this article are both informational and inspirational.
