A detailed examination, authored by a law firm, of the factors shaping Australia's circular economy policies. The two-part article looks at how Australia is performing relative to other developed countries (not so well); the legal and governmental measures put in place that are helping to shape the emerging industry; and state by state review of  implementation and plans for development. The second part of the article provides a more detailed examination of how the concept and definition of "waste" in Australia is also hindering adoption, providing options for shifting these definitions to better fit circular economy objectives.
