Gayle Peterson

Associate Fellow at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford and Senior Managing Director of pfc social impact advisors. Gayle manages pfc's global advisory services.

Gayle directs Oxford Impact Investing Programme and Social Finance Programme at Saïd Business School, Oxford University. She also co-founded Women Transforming Leadership. She has taught more than 300 executive students from more than 90 countries to understand the opportunity and obligation of being change agents in complex times.

Gayle has two decades of experience as strategist, philanthropist, and trusted advisor to social investors worldwide. She has managed and assessed more than US$15 billion in philanthropic and social investments to alleviate poverty, mitigate climate change, promote gender and financial inclusion, and build the capacity of new leaders in the field of social finance.

Gayle created Leadership for the Common Good: a Deliberate Leadership framework based on a do no harm philosophy to promote multi-sector partnerships, assess impact, and promote strategies to help leaders maximize success within their organizations.

She is writing Good, Evil, Wicked: The Art, Science, and Business of Giving, a publication of Stanford University Press which examines emerging global trends in social and impact investing. Research includes interviewing 1,200 CEOs and senior executives in social investing in 20 countries across five continents. More than 40 teaching case studies have been published featuring: Thomson Reuters Foundation, Vodafone India, BNY Mellon, Mellon Capital Management and McKnight Foundation, Packard Foundation and Hewlett Foundation, Ivey, McConnell and Suncor foundations, UBS Optimus Foundation, Humanity United, and The Kresge Foundation.
