Future building: towards a sustainable habitat

The latest edition of the UNESCO Courier takes us around the world to explore examples of using architecture for the betterment of eco-social environments.

Covering a wide variety of socio-economic contexts, the stories range from the global south to the global north, from low-tech to high-tech, from small-scale construction rediscovering local materials to urban-scale approaches that promote inclusion, and more.

This will be a useful read for those, expert or not, who are interested in comparing how freedom and responsibility in architecture can be joined in different ways, perhaps with some hope that the majority of the world does not have to repeat the nature-alienating mistakes of the West.
