Climate Landscapes Conference
Climate Landscapes Conference
A deep bench of experts and practitioners will participate in this conference addressing the largely neglected public question of how broadly diversified agriculture and forestry and the targeted, natural retention of rainwater in the land can contribute to the regeneration of the local water cycle via the natural cooling effect of vegetation and thus contribute significantly to the mitigation of climate change. In addition to reducing CO2 exchange, regenerating our planet's natural cooling system is the greatest lever we have to overcome the repercussions of climate change. Speakers will include leading international scientists from various disciplines incl. Walter Jehne, Antonio Nobre (flying rivers), as well as experts and practitioners who will be able to substantiate the effectiveness of these measures through concrete projects worldwide. The conference is aimed at a broad audience of scientists, agriculture, forestry and water managers, business leaders, as well as policy makers and journalists.
This conference is about the ability to think systemically and interconnectedly. For far too long we have ignored the impact of water, which determines 85% of the climate on this planet.
